ARM Software Development Engineer

At Brain Corporation we apply expertise in machine learning and robotics to create intelligent systems capable of functioning autonomously in real world complex human environments.  Combined with our technology we believe the robots of tomorrow already exist today.

We are building a new team and are seeking ARM Software Development Engineers who will focus on developing software solutions for our new and innovative consumer products. As a Software Engineer, you will work with our researchers who are developing novel algorithms for autonomous robotics, and with our team of hardware and firmware engineers to efficiently implement these ideas in a low-cost Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. You will develop customer-focused interfaces and infrastructure. You will see the results of your work “come to life” in real robotic platforms that interact directly, autonomously and intelligently with the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the results of our research and design and develop scalable, efficient, robust software and services for commercial release.
  • Optimize our software packages to run on low-cost ARM hardware.
  • Develop software to allow robots to function in and interact with complex and unknown environments.
  • Support the continuous improvement of our software platform.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Master's degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years experience with Snapdragon systems
  • Advanced programming skills in C/C++ or other major languages, e.g. Python
  • Familiarity with computer vision, video processing or VSLAM/VIO algorithms
  • Proficiency with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC (ARM, Adreno GPU, Hexagon DSP)
  • Proficiency with embedded software development and in object oriented design
  • Experience developing in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • A demonstrable understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices
  • Knowledge of unit and integration testing methodologies and build processes
  • Experience with design and development of high quality software and services in a scalable, multi-threaded environment
